Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Lead, Quality Engineer to lead and scale a high-performing QA team in a modern, microservices-driven payments environment. You will mentor engineers, own testing strategies, and drive automation, CI/CD, and release processes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, user-centric solutions with strong quality gates and performance controls. This role demands hands-on technical leadership and a passion for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development.
• Proven experience in building and mentoring test engineers within cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile development, microservices, and modern testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with Automation: Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured; Performance & Resilience: JMeter, Chaos testing tools; Quality & Monitoring: SonarQube and AI-based testing platforms.
• Languages: Java (preferred), JavaScript, Python; CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes; Release Management and contract testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test automation strategy across the XBS platform.
• Foster collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team culture.
• Drive in-sprint testing, shift-left quality, and test automation across platforms.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Design and implement robust testing frameworks using Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured.
• Monitor Quality KPIs and ensure release readiness.
• Ensure performance and resilience through JMeter and chaos testing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers on UX quality.
• Promote TDD/BDD and quality gates with SonarQube.
• Continuously improve team processes, tools, and testing strategies.
