Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead, Quality Engineer to lead and scale a high‑performing QA team in a modern, microservices‑driven payments environment. You’ll drive testing strategies, automation, CI/CD, and release management, mentoring engineers and promoting ownership and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver scalable, user‑centric solutions, while advancing test‑driven development and quality gates across the platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in team building and mentoring test engineers.
• Strong understanding of Agile development, microservices, and modern testing methodologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Exposure to performance testing with JMeter and chaos testing.
• Familiarity with contractual testing and API end‑to‑end validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end test automation strategy across microservices architecture.
• Mentor engineers, manage performance, foster ownership and collaboration.
• Drive in‑sprint testing, shift‑left quality, and test automation across platforms.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
• Design and implement robust testing frameworks using Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured.
• Monitor Quality KPIs such as test coverage, MTTR, and release readiness.
• Ensure performance and resilience via JMeter and chaos testing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver high‑value UX.
• Promote TDD, BDD and quality gates using SonarQube.
