Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Lead, Quality Engineer to lead a high-performing QA team in a modern, microservices-driven payments environment. This role blends hands-on testing with people leadership, driving automation, CI/CD, and release management.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and foster ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement while delivering scalable, secure, and user-centric payments solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development.
• Proven experience in building and mentoring test teams.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, microservices, and modern testing methodologies.
• Hands-on with automation tools Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured.
• Experience with performance and resilience testing: JMeter, chaos testing, API testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test automation strategy across the team and ensure NFRs are tracked and met.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing culture.
• Drive in-sprint testing, shift-left quality, and automation across the platform.
• Coordinate CI/CD pipelines and release management.
• Design and implement robust testing frameworks with stated tools.
• Monitor quality KPIs and production readiness.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to deliver user-centric payments solutions.
• Promote TDD/BDD and quality gates using SonarQube.
