Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer / Lead Architect for Open Finance. You will design and deliver secure, scalable Open Banking services, while hands-on coding, architecture reviews and collaboration with product teams drive critical initiatives.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape architectural strategy, and balance speed with long-term sustainability in a regulatory, high-impact financial services context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices.
• Hands-on experience designing secure, scalable cloud-based systems (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Solid foundation in secure development, cryptography and secure protocols.
• Proficiency in secure coding practices and familiarity with OWASP and CWE.
• Leadership of technical initiatives in regulated industries with compliance needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and secure Open Banking services at scale.
• Be hands-on with code reviews, architecture sessions and implementation work.
• Collaborate with product and business teams to shape initiatives.
