Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Lead Software Engineer, Lead Architect for Open Finance to design secure, scalable Open Banking platforms in Ireland. You will shape data, APIs and compliance-driven solutions and mentor teams across engineering and security.

You will be hands-on with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, collaborating with product and regulatory groups to deliver resilient systems powering modern financial experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering and architecture.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Secure development practices incl. cryptography and secure communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver robust, scalable Open Banking services.
• Be hands-on with coding, architecture reviews, and design Sessions.
• Collaborate with product and business teams to shape solutions.
• Mentor engineers and tech leads; drive architectural guidance.
• Balance speed, scale and sustainability in architectural decisions.
• Lead by doing and inspire teams toward high-impact outcomes.
