Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive architecture and development for our BE&O analytics platform. You will lead cross‑functional teams, modernize legacy systems, and deliver scalable cloud-native services and APIs.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, data scientists, security and operations, and ensure high standards of security, observability, and performance across global teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in agile environments.
• Strong track record in distributed systems and cloud-native apps.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or PySpark is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead architecture decisions and mentor engineers.
• Hands-on contributor with end-to-end delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of data-intensive software for analytics platform.
• Define modernization strategy including cloud-native architectures.
• Drive architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, data science, security and ops teams.
• Coordinate globally distributed teams and ensure timely delivery.
