Electricity Supply Board (ESB) is hiring a Lead HV Cable Engineer to own the onshore export cable system design and lifecycle, connecting major wind projects to the grid. You will cover early design through construction, commissioning and handover, with emphasis on safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

You will manage suppliers and contractors, oversee route/civil interfaces, and drive asset performance, drawing on 7+ years in HV underground cables and Chartered Engineer status as

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive HV underground cable engineering experience (7+ years).
• Knowledge of IEC, CIGRE standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Chartered Engineer status and involvement in international engineering organisations.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design, specification, and engineering assurance of the HV export cable system.
• Oversee development of onshore cable route and civil interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, CIGRE and statutory requirements; provide guidance on cable design, rating, earthing and bonding.
• Lead engagement with cable manufacturers, installers and consultants; review technical docs and FAT/SAT procedures.
• Provide senior engineering oversight during trenching, ducting, jointing, testing and commissioning; resolve on-site issues.
