Job description

Allsite Staffing is recruiting an experienced Landfill Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, environmental compliance and performance of a regulated waste facility in the Cavan area.

This is a key site-based role for an experienced waste or environmental professional who is comfortable taking ownership of operations and ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with its environmental licence and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation and overall performance of the facility.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental licence conditions, waste legislation and site procedures.
• Coordinate waste acceptance and landfill operations.
• Oversee environmental monitoring including groundwater, surface water, landfill gas and leachate.
• Manage contractors, laboratories and specialist service providers.
• Maintain accurate environmental, operational and compliance records and reports.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, environmental audits and site visits.
• Liaise with regulators, local authorities and other external stakeholders.
• Identify operational or environmental issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain high standards across health & safety, environmental compliance and site operations.

Candidate Profile

• Experience within landfill operations, waste management, wastewater treatment, environmental management or a similar regulated environment.
• Relevant qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Waste Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Practical experience with environmental licences, permits, monitoring and regulatory compliance.
• Good knowledge of relevant waste and environmental legislation.
• Experience dealing with regulators or statutory agencies is highly desirable.
• Strong organisational, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of site requirements.
