Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd in Kilkenny is seeking a Waste Operative to join our site, working a 42-hour week with night shifts required. You will service waste points, operate the general waste compactor and the Dry Mixed Recycling baler, bale recyclables, and load containers with a forklift.

ADR/IMDG paperwork for hazardous shipments, on-site decanting of hazardous waste, and liaising with waste management vendors are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Environmental or Waste management is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation.
• Well-organised and capable of prioritising own work.
• Flexible, Honest and reliable.
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Waste Operative to join our team at our facility in Kilkenny.

Working pattern: Monday to Sunday, 42 hours per week

***Must be willing to work nights***

Main duties and responsibilities

▪ To service hazardous and non-hazardous waste collection points throughout the client site

▪ Filling and use of the general waste compactor

▪ Filling and use of the Dry Mixed Recyclable Compactor Baling of cardboard, plastic, and paper waste streams

▪ Loading of curtainsiders and containers by use of a forklift

▪ Completion of all ADR/IMDG paperwork for shipments of hazardous waste off-site

▪ Decanting of hazardous waste streams on site

▪ Completion of all relevant paperwork with regard to non-hazardous waste

▪ Other paperwork and admin duties

▪ Liaise with waste management vendors

▪ Salting of the car park over the winter months
