Job summary

Vickerstock is partnering with a leading Irish main contractor to recruit a Junior Quantity Surveyor for their Dublin commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will contribute to project cost control, procurement and financial reporting while collaborating with project managers and site teams to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in a QS role within construction or civil engineering.
• Knowledge of procurement, contract law and commercial management.
• Strong negotiation, financial analysis and cost-control skills.
• Proficient in Excel and QS software such as Cubit, CostX or Buildsoft.
• Valid Safe Pass card.
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage project costs, budgets and financial reporting with project teams.
• Identify, assess and appoint subcontractors and suppliers per procurement schedules.
• Prepare and manage subcontract orders with compliance documentation.
• Prepare internal valuations and submit for approval.
• Monitor expenditure, identify cost variances and manage contractual changes.
• Prepare and agree variation costs with design teams as projects progress.
• Advise on plant, equipment and procurement decisions to optimise costs.
• Provide regular financial analysis and commercial updates to the Commercial Director.
• Prepare and finalise project accounts near practical completion to protect margins.
• Attend internal/site meetings to support project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
