• Set up, configure and provision Android devices for customers.

Junior Android Support Engineer - (€35-40k)

Location: Dublin 12

About the Role

An established technology company providing mobile computing solutions is looking for a Junior Android Support Engineer to join its growing technical team in Dublin.This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career who has a good foundation in technical support, networking or mobile devices and wants to develop specialist knowledge across Android Enterprise, device management and cybersecurity. Don't worry if you don't have experience with everything listed below - training will be provided for the right person with strong technical fundamentals and a willingness to learn, with the opportunity to gain recognised Android Enterprise certifications.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside experienced members of the Android Lifecycle Services team, you will:

• Set up, configure and provision Android devices for customers.
• Assist with Android operating system and security updates.
• Help test updates before they are rolled out to customer devices.
• Support the deployment of updates across customer device fleets.
• Learn how to review security vulnerabilities and CVEs and understand their impact on Android devices.
• Work with customers to schedule updates and minimise disruption to their operations.
• Assist with troubleshooting Android device, connectivity and update issues.
• Monitor devices following updates and help resolve any problems.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Develop your knowledge across Android, networking, security and device management.

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

• Some experience in IT Support, Service Desk, Desktop Support, Mobile Support or a similar technical role.
• A basic understanding of Android devices and operating systems.
• An interest in cybersecurity, vulnerability management and security patching.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers.
• A willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of tasks.

Nice to Have - But Not Essential

Any exposure to the following would be beneficial:

• MDM / EMM platforms such as SOTI MobiControl, MobileIron, Intune or similar
• CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+
• Endpoint or device management
• CVEs and vulnerability management
• Zebra, Honeywell or other enterprise Android devices
