Job summary

H Murphy Wholesalers is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee IT operations and infrastructure across seven retail locations and three wholesale warehouses. You will manage networks, ERP and POS systems, and external suppliers to ensure secure, reliable systems supporting retail, wholesale, stock control and reporting.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong problem-solving, and excellent communication with technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an IT Manager, Systems Manager, or similar role.
• Experience supporting a multi-site organisation.
• Strong understanding of ERP and POS systems.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving retail and wholesale environment.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the company's IT infrastructure across all sites.
• Manage networks, Wi-Fi, servers, PCs, laptops, printers, telecommunications, CCTV and other IT equipment.
• Ensure reliable connectivity between retail stores, warehouses, offices, and other locations.
• Take ownership of the ERP and retail/POS systems, working closely with external suppliers.
• Ensure ERP and POS systems effectively support retail, wholesale, purchasing, stock control, finance, warehousing, and reporting.
• Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day IT support across all sites.
• Troubleshoot escalated hardware, software, networking, ERP, and POS issues.
• Support business expansion, including opening new retail or wholesale locations.
• Lead and manage IT projects from initial requirements through to implementation.
• Translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
• Manage external IT service providers.
• Build strong relationships with technology partners and suppliers.
