Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our delivery team. You will work with Contract Managers and senior QS on a range of projects across data centres, healthcare, pharmaceutical and commercial sectors.

The role offers exposure to varied contracts, strong IT and communication requirements, and opportunities for CPD and progression within a world-class engineering contractor.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in a similar role with an electrical contractor.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work in a team.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
• Relevant third level qualifications are an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Contract Managers to advise on commercial status of projects.
• Assist in the review of all project contracts.
• Assist the Senior QS with the preparation of Commercial Reports.
• Negotiate with contractors across all projects including preparation of variations.
• Manage major subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Assist the Senior QS with monthly progress applications.
• Assist in the tendering process.
• All other duties associated with this role.

Job Description

Due to continued expansion in Jones Engineering, we require an Intermediate Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join the delivery team. The projects involve a wide range of clients in sectors such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Commercial. This role offers experience of varied project work across different sectors and exposure to a diverse range of construction contracts.

• Excellent IT Skills.
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
