Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 7–10 years' experience in Electrical QS roles.
• Experience on MEP, Data Centre, Industrial, or Commercial projects.
• Strong NEC/JCT/FIDIC knowledge.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the client's commercial interests across major electrical and MEP packages.
• Manage and oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of electrical works.
• Review contractor applications for payment, valuations and supporting documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure, forecasts and overall cost performance.
• Prepare and review monthly CVRs, cost reports and financial forecasts.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities and potential cost exposure.
• Lead and support procurement activities, including tender documentation and tender evaluations.
• Review contractor accounts, variations and change requests.
• Assess, value and negotiate variations, claims and compensation events.
• Ensure contractual procedures and commercial governance are followed.
• Provide commercial advice to project and senior management teams.
• Support cash-flow forecasting and project financial reporting.
• Manage the commercial close-out and agreement of final accounts.
• Assist in resolving contractual and commercial disputes where required.
• Provide commercial leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and provide senior-level commercial management across major construction projects in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical QS to work in a client-facing role, representing the client's commercial interests throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring electrical packages are commercially controlled, contractual obligations are managed effectively, and project costs, risks and opportunities are accurately reported.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and senior stakeholders, providing commercial leadership from pre-construction through to final account.

About You

Our client is looking for a commercially strong and experienced professional with a proven track record in electrical quantity surveying and major construction projects.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years' experience within an Electrical QS or commercial role.
• Experience working across MEP, Data Centre, Industrial, Pharmaceutical or Commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT and FIDIC
• Experience managing electrical packages and major contractors.
• Strong understanding of cost control, procurement, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Experience working in a client-side, consultancy or senior contractor environment would be advantageous.
