Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to maintain the stability, availability and performance of critical infrastructure for an AI hyperscaler. You will monitor systems, coordinate incidents, identify risks and support continuous service improvement alongside engineering and service operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in infrastructure support, strong troubleshooting, and solid documentation.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in infrastructure support or related fields.
• Experience monitoring systems, alerts and investigating infrastructure issues.
• Ability to perform routine operational tasks with minimal supervision.
• Experience coordinating incidents with technical teams for service recovery.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for stakeholder updates.
• Comfort working in a service-critical, procedure-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infrastructure health indicators, alerts and dashboards to identify faults and availability concerns.
• Evaluate incoming alerts and initiate appropriate responses per policies.
• Perform initial checks to investigate irregular system behaviour and resolve straightforward issues.
• Refer complex problems to engineering or specialist teams.
• Coordinate troubleshooting, service restoration and recovery activities with involved teams.
• Record incident details and escalation decisions to support reporting and analysis.
• Support post-change checks to ensure stability after maintenance.
