Job summary

Elgin is seeking an experienced In-House Solicitor to join our Dublin team and act as the legal partner to development and transactions teams on real estate, land and development matters across the business. You will provide strategic legal advice, risk management and transaction support, manage external advisers, and help shape land agreements for utility-scale solar and storage projects.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Significant experience advising on complex real estate transactions.
• Strong drafting and negotiating skills for leases, easements and land rights.
• Experience supporting development teams in energy or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal legal partner to development managers on land and development-related matters across Elgin’s portfolio.
• Lead negotiations with landowners, tenants, councils, statutory bodies and other third parties with risk management strategy.
• Draft, review and negotiate land agreements and related documentation (leases, easements, licenses).
• Provide legal support on planning, permitting, infrastructure and grid connection matters.
• Manage external advisers and oversight of legal budgets.
• Support real estate aspects of M&A, portfolio acquisitions and project financings.
• Contribute to playbooks, templates and process improvements within the legal function.
