Job summary

Elgin Energy is seeking an experienced in-house solicitor to partner with development and transactions teams on real estate, land and development matters across the business in Ireland and the UK. You will provide strategic legal advice, manage external advisers, draft and negotiate key land agreements, and help shape the legal framework for utility-scale solar and storage projects.

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales and/or Ireland with 5+ years’ post‑qualification experience.
Significant experience advising on complex real estate transactions, land assembly and development projects.
Proven drafting and negotiating skills for options, leases, easements and land agreements.
Experience supporting development teams in infrastructure, energy or renewables projects.
Strong commercial negotiation, stakeholder management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Act as principal legal partner to development managers and project leads.
Lead on land and development-related legal workstreams in UK & Ireland.
Draft, review and negotiate land-related agreements incl. heads of terms, leases and rights.
Oversee external counsel and manage legal budgets.
Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to support project delivery.
Support planning, permitting, grid connection and infrastructure matters.
Lead due diligence for acquisitions and portfolio transactions.
