Role Overview
Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Senior Implementation Manager to support a leading payments organisation in Ireland.
The successful candidate will lead complex implementation, conversion and integration programmes involving customer portfolios, data migration, technology products and third-party vendors. You will take ownership of the full implementation lifecycle, from defining scope and developing the implementation strategy through to delivery, post-implementation evaluation and transition into business as usual.
This is a senior, client-facing position requiring strong programme delivery, stakeholder management and leadership capabilities. You will be accountable to executive sponsors for programme scope, schedule, budget, quality and overall outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementations and conversions of varying size and complexity.
- Define programme scope, objectives, requirements and solution specifications.
- Develop detailed implementation plans, budgets, delivery schedules and milestones.
- Identify and secure the resources required for successful delivery.
- Establish governance structures, decision-making processes and clear lines of authority.
- Manage the execution of implementation plans through to completion.
- Oversee the conversion and migration of data from multiple systems.
- Lead the integration and conversion of payment products for new customer portfolios.
- Support the creation and implementation of new products and operational processes.
- Manage customer and third-party vendor integrations and conversions.
- Oversee multiple projects, workstreams and initiatives concurrently.
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, budgets and delivery outcomes.
- Provide clear reporting and updates to executive sponsors and senior stakeholders.
- Lead and support teams of professionals, operational staff and subject‑matter experts.
- Set priorities, allocate work and monitor team performance and delivery.
- Drive ownership, accountability and effective decision-making across project teams.
- Build strong relationships with clients throughout the implementation programme.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and evaluate programme outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate processes and support models are established for business-as-usual operations.
Required Experience
- At least eight years' project or programme management experience.
- Demonstrable experience delivering large and complex implementation, conversion or transformation programmes.
- Experience working within payments, banking, financial services or another regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of system implementation, data conversion and technology integration.
- Experience managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
- At least eight years' experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment.
- Strong client and third-party vendor management experience.
- Proven ability to manage senior and executive-level stakeholders.
- Experience owning programme scope, schedules, budgets, risks and quality.
- Strong knowledge of project and programme management tools and methodologies.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle.
- Practical experience delivering through Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to secure support for organisational and operational change.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience delivering payment-platform or payment-product implementations.
- Customer or merchant portfolio conversion experience.
- Consulting or professional-services experience.
- MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification.
