Job summary

Stewarts Care Ltd invites applications for a full-time permanent Behaviour Specialist to provide expert Positive Behaviour Support to adults and children across our services.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct functional behavioural assessments, develop function-based interventions, train staff and participate in policy development, aiming to reduce restrictive practices and improve quality of life.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst preferred but not essential with two years’ experience in a similar role.
• Higher qualification in the area of behavioural assessment and intervention (e.g., MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Diploma in Applied Psychology of Learning Disability – or equivalent).
• Evidence of participation in continued professional development.
• Holds a full clean driving licence and access to a car.
• Demonstrates competence and capability of undertaking the duties attached to the office.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist knowledge, expertise and care to service users who display behaviours of concern and require support to achieve goals.
• Conduct Functional Behavioural Assessments to identify required supports.
• Develop and implement function-based Positive Behaviour Support interventions to improve quality of life.
• Monitor service users, evaluate outcomes and adjust care practices and supports.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and work with the clinical team to meet service user needs.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development and staff training in Positive Behaviour Support.
