Job summary

Stewarts Care Ltd is seeking a Senior Psychologist to deliver high-quality psychology services for children and families within the CDNT5. The post requires engagement with an interdisciplinary team and alignment with family-centred practice and service governance.

Responsibilities include assessment, therapy, supervision of staff and trainees, and contributing to education and training. The role emphasises evidence-based practice, professional development, and adherence to Irish psychology

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma (QQI level 8) with Psychology as major and honours.
• Post-graduate qualification in Psychology accredited by PSI.
• At least five years post-graduate psychology experience; two+ years post-qualification.
• Demonstrated competence in working with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver psychology services to children and families within the CDNT.
• Provide consultation and clinical supervision of staff and trainee psychologists.
• Undertake assessments, therapy, and preventative programmes within professional competence.
• Carry out Assessments of Need within designated timeframes.
• Support transitions for children/young people into school and adult services.
• Maintain records, reports and statistics; represent the service at meetings.

Education

University degree or diploma (QQI level 8 equivalent) with 1st or 2nd class honours in Psychology

Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational)

Five years post-graduate experience as a professional psychologist (minimum two years post-qualification)
