Job summary

Jacobs is seeking Senior/Principal/Associate Director Hydrologists to join our Water Catchment Management Team in Ireland. You’ll lead hydrological investigations, modelling and catchment assessments, guiding projects from feasibility through construction. You’ll mentor juniors and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable solutions for communities.

Qualifications

• A degree in Hydrology, Geography, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
• A postgraduate qualification in Hydrology, Civil Engineering or a related field
• Strong experience delivering hydrological and integrated catchment science assessments
• Proven project and team leadership experience
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Membership of, or progress towards membership of, CIWEM or a relevant professional institution
• A passion for innovation, sustainability and developing others
• An interest in emerging technologies, including AI, data management, SuDS, blue‑green infrastructure and carbon reduction

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrological investigations, modelling and catchment assessments
• Support projects ranging from Environmental Impact Assessments and major transport schemes to water resources and flood risk management programmes
• Deliver technical work across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction and commissioning
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance on complex projects
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding outcomes for clients and communities
• Build strong relationships with clients, regulators and stakeholders
• Champion innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement
• Mentor and support the development of junior team members
