Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior SuDS Engineer to lead sustainable drainage and surface water projects across Ireland. You will collaborate with hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and environmental teams to deliver innovative, compliant designs that improve climate resilience and water quality.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements, opportunities for mentorship, and involvement in nationally significant water management initiatives across Ireland, the UK, and beyond.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with ICE, CIWEM or working towards chartership.
• Strong experience in sustainable drainage, surface water management and drainage design.
• In-depth knowledge of legislation, planning policy and industry design standards.
• Understanding of Safety in Design and CDM requirements.
• Experience using hydraulic modelling software such as MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, InfoWorks ICM or Causeway Flow.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outline and detailed designs for sustainable drainage systems and surface water drainage strategies.
• Develop and review hydraulic calculations, drainage designs, technical specs and contract docs.
• Lead projects through feasibility to construction and handover.
• Undertake hydrological and hydraulic assessments to support development.
• Integrate climate resilience, biodiversity and sustainability into design solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers while advancing technical excellence.
