Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a HR Business Partner to join our Tralee office in a hybrid capacity. The role involves partnering with managers, advising on Irish employment law, and guiding a broad range of HR matters to support business growth.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years’ HR experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to coach and influence leadership across multiple teams. This is a hands-on role with exposure to talent management and change initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin or related field; or equivalent experience.
• At least five years’ HR experience, ideally Generalist or Advisor.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to coach and influence managers on workplace issues.
• Solid understanding of HR principles and Irish employment law.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to managers and staff across a broad range of people matters.
• Advise on Irish employment legislation, HR policies and best practices.
• Lead and support employee relations, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance processes.
• Coach managers in people management, performance conversations and conflict resolution.
• Support talent management, succession planning and annual HR processes.
• Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence on talent acquisition, compensation and HR operations.
• Identify people risks and propose practical solutions aligned with business objectives.
