About the Role
Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers is seeking an organised, proactive and personable HR Administrator to join the company on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day delivery of HR activities across the business and help ensure continuity of the HR function during the maternity leave period. This is a varied role covering recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, training and CPD, probation and performance reviews, leave administration and general HR support.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment administration, including advertising vacancies, managing applications and scheduling interviews.
- Liaise with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
- Prepare offer letters, contracts and new starter documentation.
- Coordinate the onboarding and induction process for new employees.
- Maintain recruitment records and candidate information.
- Assist with graduate recruitment, careers fairs and work experience placements where required.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel files.
- Prepare HR correspondence including contracts, salary adjustment letters, probation letters and other employee documentation.
- Administer annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, parental leave and other employee absences.
- Maintain HR trackers and internal records.
- Respond to routine employee HR queries and refer more complex matters to management where appropriate.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, pensions and other company schemes.
- Provide employee updates and information required for payroll administration.
Probation & Performance Reviews
- Monitor probation review dates and coordinate reviews with managers.
- Assist with the administration of annual performance reviews and appraisals.
- Maintain records of completed reviews and agreed actions.
- Support the administration of salary reviews, promotions and employee progression.
Learning, Development & CPD
- Coordinate internal and external training and CPD activities.
- Maintain employee training and CPD records.
- Assist with the organisation of technical talks, workshops and professional development events.
- Support the company's Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer requirements.
- Assist with professional memberships, graduate development and chartership support.
Employee Engagement & General HR Support
- Assist with internal HR communications and employee announcements.
- Support staff engagement, wellbeing and social initiatives.
- Assist with company events where required.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures and the Employee Handbook.
- Prepare HR reports and information for management.
- Provide general HR and administrative support as required to ensure the smooth running of the HR function throughout the maternity cover period.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in an HR Administrator, HR Assistant or similar role.
- A relevant qualification in HR, Business or Administration would be advantageous.
