Qualifications

• Minimum five years' broad HR experience in a generalist or HRBP role.
• Strong employee relations and a sound understanding of employment law.
• Ability to coach, advise and influence managers and senior stakeholders.
• A third-level qualification in HR or Business; CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach balancing business requirements and people needs.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership to develop and deliver people strategies and workforce plans aligned with business priorities.
• Provide practical advice and coaching on employee relations matters, including absence, grievance, disciplinary and performance management.
• Support recruitment and onboarding while helping to strengthen succession planning, talent development and employee retention.
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, together with relevant community activities.
• Use HR metrics and data to identify trends, support decision-making and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate HR systems and ensure HR practices meet legal, policy and audit requirements.
• Build trusted relationships across the organisation and support managers in handling people matters confidently.

Matrix Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for a permanent, site-based position in County Monaghan.

Reporting directly to the Site Director, you will work closely with the leadership team, combining strategic HR input with hands‑on support across employee relations, workforce planning, talent development and employee engagement.

This is a visible and varied role for an established HR Business Partner or experienced Senior HR Advisor/Generalist who enjoys working closely with operational leaders and wants the opportunity to influence how people initiatives are delivered across a busy site.

What we are looking for

• At least five years’ broad HR experience in a generalist, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner capacity.
• Strong employee relations experience and a sound understanding of employment law.
• The confidence to coach, advise and influence managers and senior stakeholders.
• A relevant third-level qualification in HR or Business.
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent practical HR experience.
• A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to balance business requirements and employee needs.

Advantageous

• Previous experience in FMCG, manufacturing, food production or another operational environment.

Candidates with strong employee relations and business-partnering experience from other sectors are also encouraged to apply.
