Ei Electronics is hiring an HR Business Partner to support our Shannon, Ireland production teams. You will partner with supervisors and leaders to drive culture, engagement, and workforce planning, ensuring smooth employee conversations on the shop floor.

With 5+ years in HRBP, you will advise on talent development, onboarding, performance coaching, and compliance with Irish employment laws. A CIPD or related qualification is desirable and you will join a dedicated HR team reporting to the HR

  • Experience supporting production operatives and technicians is essential.
  • Knowledge of Irish employment law and work permits is desirable.

Job description

As our HR Business Partner, you'll be the go-to expert supporting our dedicated manufacturing teams—the backbone of Ei. Based in Shannon Ireland, you'll partner closely with operational leaders and supervisors to drive plans that boost efficiency and engagement. This isn't just HR; it's about igniting the human engine behind world-class manufacturing. This person is expected to have a human touch with high visibility and engage deeply with supervisors and team members on our production lines promoting culture and supporting supervisors on employee conversations to help ensure the smooth running of the operation. This role will be an advocate for both employees and supervisors. This is a new role which will report to the HR Manager and will join an established but new HR Team.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Engagement : Handle day-to-day employee queries;, partner with supervisors and managers to resolve conflicts and disagreements in an informal way and in conjunction with the manufacturing leaders; implement culture initiatives that also work for shift-based roles in a high-tech manufacturing setting. Team-building events via sports & social and volunteering events, wellness and feedback loops that keep morale positive.

Partnership : Collaborate with manufacturing managers and supervisors to align HR initiatives with business goals, focusing on culture, workforce planning, talent development, and succession for Supervisors, Technicians and other leaders.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding : Partner with the recruiter on recruitment efforts to attract top-tier operatives and technicians, ensuring seamless onboarding that sets them up for success from day one. Promote internal promotional opportunities and participate in interviews and feedback. Partner with the HR team and marketing to ensure consistent employer branding, and travel to and participate in local employment events.

Performance Management : coaching leaders on employee’s conversations, training needs, and career progression for technical and operational staff where required.

Compliance & Best Practices : Ensure adherence to Irish employment laws, partner with the health & safety and occupational health team to support a happy and healthy work environment, while ensuring a respective work environment.

Data-Driven Insights : Analyse HR metrics like retention rates, absenteeism, and skills gaps to recommend proactive solutions that enhance productivity and reduce turnover.

Change Management : Support organisational changes, such as tech upgrades or process improvements, assisting team members through transitions with empathy and expertise. Ability to do training with team members on how to use new tools and systems.

What We're Looking For

Experience : Minimum of 5+ years in a HR Business Partner role in a manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience supporting roles like production operatives and technicians is a must, preferably in an electronics or high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications : Degree in HR, Business, or a related discipline; CIPD qualification (or equivalent) is desirable. Knowledge of Irish employment and work permit legislation important.

Skills :

Exceptional communication and influencing abilities to connect with everyone from shop-floor teams to supervisors and managers.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and the agility to thrive in a dynamic setting using informal processes to resolve concerns.

Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, HR systems (e.g., CoreHR or similar) and data analytics tools is required.

Experience in a team implementing a new HRIS system would be highly desirable.

A strong team player who will partner with the broader HR team on initiatives.
