Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an HR Generalist for a Co Clare-based role. Initially on-site for 6 months, then hybrid working. Salary range 35–45k, 8.30am–5pm (4pm Friday).

12-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent, plus comprehensive benefits including healthcare for you and dependents, pension, canteen and on-site gym. You will manage employee relations, recruitment lifecycle, benefits, onboarding processes and HR reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree in business or related field, preferably HR.
• 2–3+ years HR experience; CIPD desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office and attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle all employee relations as main staff contact.
• Oversee recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding.
• Manage benefits including pensions, healthcare, and safety wear.
• Prepare monthly HR reports and refine onboarding procedures.
• Coordinate onboarding/relocation for international staff and visa processes.
• Maintain policies and employee handbook; manage files and records.
• Assist with payroll preparation, appraisals, and absence records.
• Act as HR representative on the communications team and support ad hoc projects.

HR Generalist

Salary - 35-45k depending on level of experience.
Hours -8.30am to 5pm and until 4pm on a Friday.

About Your New Job:

• You will handle all aspects of employee relations, serving as the primary point of contact for staff queries and requests.
• Oversee the full recruitment and selection lifecycle, ensuring a seamless process from sourcing to onboarding.
• Manage employee benefits, including pensions, medical insurance, and safety wear provisioning.
• Prepare monthly HR reports for key departments and assist in developing and refining onboarding procedures, including the ZUP process.
• Coordinate the integration of new hires, ensuring systems are set up and arrivals are efficiently managed.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of company policies and the employee handbook.
• Maintain up-to-date personnel files and training records, and manage onboarding and relocation for international staff, including visa processes.
• Advise and support management on HR-related matters, manage working time and absence records, and assist with employee appraisals and payroll preparation.
• Act as the HR representative on the communications team and participate in ad hoc HR projects as required.

What Skills You Need

• Degree in business or a related field, ideally specializing in human resources.
• At least 2-3+ years of HR experience; CIPD qualification is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with time and attendance systems is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of current Irish employment legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Problem-solving ability and creativity in finding solutions.
• Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and a friendly, approachable attitude.
• Flexible, with strong multitasking and organisational skills.
