Job summary

Ethos Care Group is opening a new nursing home and seeks an experienced HR Generalist to establish the people function from day one.

You will work with nursing home management, employees, and our HR team based at the Athlone support office to deliver a high-quality HR service.

This role offers flexible scheduling, fortnightly pay, career development, and an opportunity to shape culture and employee experience in a brand-new service.

Qualifications

• Degree in HR, Business, or related discipline.
• Strong experience in generalist HR and recruitment.
• Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations in line with Irish employment legislation and best practice.
• Collaborate with managers and employees to provide practical HR advice and support.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and maintain accurate HR documentation.
• Assist with employee relations matters and HR processes.
• Implement and communicate HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR data.
• Support HR projects and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

About the Role

We are delighted to be opening a new nursing home and are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team as we prepare for this exciting new opening.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in establishing and supporting the people function within a brand-new care environment. You will work closely with our nursing home management team, employees, and our dedicated HR team based at our support offices in Athlone, ensuring a high-quality HR service from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day HR operations in line with Irish employment legislation and best practice
• Work closely with managers and employees to provide practical HR advice and support
• Support recruitment and selection, onboarding, and the maintenance of accurate HR documentation
• Provide support with employee relations matters and HR processes
• Assist with the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance
• Support HR projects and initiatives led by the wider HR team
• Work collaboratively with the nursing home management team and our Athlone-based support office

About You

• Degree or relevant qualification in HR, Business, or a related discipline
• Strong experience in a generalist HR and recruitment role
• Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice
• Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Professional, approachable, and discreet
• A genuine people-focused approach with the ability to build strong working relationships
• Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider, supportive HR team
