Job summary

Respond is seeking a Project Worker to join our Homeless service in Dublin 9. You will work as part of a team to support families in Supported Temporary Accommodation and help them secure long-term housing.

Key duties include guiding families through property searches, negotiating with landlords, facilitating access to local services, and developing tailored support plans. The role requires empathy, strong teamwork, and flexibility to cover evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Level 7 qualification in social care or related field.
  • Knowledge of Pathways to Home, HAP, HNAs and SLI.
  • At least 1 year experience in homelessness sector.
  • Experience managing complex client situations.
  • Understanding of Child Protection.
  • Ability to work within professional boundaries.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Garda Vetting will be conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Admit families and provide full induction.
  • Assist identify suitable properties and liaise with landlords.
  • Accompany families to property viewings and negotiate rents.
  • Explain Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).
  • Explain tenancy terms and rent agreements.
  • Develop a support plan with families.
  • Update PASS system where appropriate.
  • Facilitate access to local services and advocacy.
  • Build relationships with local services and agencies.
  • Complete accurate written records and reports.
  • Attend team meetings and CPD activities.
  • Respond to safety and security incidents and report appropriately.
  • Carry out property, occupancy and safety checks.
  • Maintain high standards of environment.
  • Duties may vary over time.
