Job summary

Focus Ireland in Dublin is seeking a Community Integration Worker to support individuals moving from homelessness into long-term housing. You will build community connections, promote social inclusion and empower people to develop skills through education, training and employment.

In this role you will work closely with Housing First principles, collaborate with case managers and external services, and facilitate community engagement to improve housing stability and wellbeing for clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in social care or CORU registered Social Care Worker.
• Two years’ experience in community development, social care, or working with vulnerable populations.
• Understanding of Housing First values in Ireland.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
• Full Driver’s License with access to a car.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
• Creativity and flexibility in developing community integration strategies.
• Empathy, cultural competence, and commitment to promoting social inclusion.
• Experience liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies.
• Knowledge of local resources and proactive approach to building partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Work in line with Housing First core values and principles.
• Support the objectives of the Housing First Service and adhere to best practices.
• Engage customers using a strengths-based approach.
• Collaborate with Case Managers, multidisciplinary teams, and external services.
• Facilitate tenant and community engagement events to promote integration and inclusion.
• Develop individualised community integration plans aligned with customer goals and housing stability.
• Connect customers to local resources, education, training, employment, and recreational opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records in internal systems and PASS with GDPR compliance.
• Participate in training, supervision, meetings, and a flexible rota as agreed with the Housing Services Manager.
• Promote health, safety, and welfare in the workplace and undertake additional duties as required.
