Job summary

The g Hotel & Spa in Galway is seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will assist in managing food preparation across restaurant, bar and conference outlets, ensuring high standards of taste, quality and presentation, while supporting cost control and staff training.

We value flexibility for different shifts and a collaborative, busy work environment in a renowned hotel group. Training and progression are provided within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef de Partie looking for a first Junior Sous Chef position.
• Background in branded hotels or restaurants is preferred so you understand operations.
• Flexible to work different shifts including weekends, mornings or evenings.
• Must follow a standardised menu and hygiene standards (HACCP).
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Manage, supervise and participate in preparation of food for all Food & Beverage outlets.
• Ensure food is produced timely, to high taste, quality and presentation standards.
• Control costs and maximize productivity in the kitchen.
• Keep the team updated on departmental, hotel and company activities daily.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards.
• Train and develop the team to build a talent pipeline; support chef development courses.
