Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) in Ireland is seeking a reliable, hands-on mechanical technician to join our full-time team on a 3-day shift from 06:00 to 18:30. You will perform planned and corrective maintenance, prepare vehicles for CVRT, and diagnose faults using appropriate tools.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, HGV or Plant maintenance experience, and a full driving licence. You will work closely with the team to ensure safety and high-quality service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• HGV or Plant mechanical maintenance experience.
• Full driving licence (C+E) preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general mechanical planned and corrective maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for CVRT.
• Carry out diagnostic fault identification and rectification repair.
• Assist with apprenticeship training.

This role is working on a three-day shift from 06:00 to 18:30 and full-time position. (for Example, the work pattern will be Monday to Wednesday, off 7 days, work from Thursday to Saturday, off Sunday and then repeat.)

Requirements

• Must hold a formal qualification NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• HGV or Plant mechanical maintenance experience.
• A Class one(C+E) licence would be preferable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks.
• Ideally have experience working on Mercedes, Renault & Scania.
• Ideally have experience working with hydraulic systems.
• Full driving license.
