Job summary

National Vehicle Distribution is seeking a proactive Parts Team Leader to drive performance across the parts department in our Ireland operation.

You will lead a team, manage stock, and coordinate with workshop staff and logistics to ensure timely availability of parts while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires strong admin skills, driving licence, and proven ability to multi-task under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong administration skills.
• Commercial vehicle experience and preferably car transporter familiarity.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail essential.
• Ability to multi-task and work well under strict deadlines is essential.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Management experience as part of a wider Parts team
• Good problem solver.
• Full clean driving license – Class B.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage the parts team, including performance reviews, scheduling, and training to ensure high departmental standards.
• Provide an efficient service to the workshop technical staff by accurately identifying commercial vehicle parts using parts IT systems, and oversee the entire parts supply chain to meet workshop demands.
• Strategically order, organise, and maintain optimal parts stock levels. Establish and enforce policies for inventory accuracy, including conducting and overseeing daily stock control checks.
• Manage the parts department budget, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation through parts sales.
• Oversee and maintain department housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe, clean, and organised working environment compliant with NVD policies.
• Oversee and coordinate the handling of walk-in driver queries at the workshop for ancillary items/PPE, ensuring exceptional service.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports on inventory, performance, and projects as needed. Proactively identify and implement areas for continuous improvement for parts processes based on data, experience, and driver feedback.
• Coordinate and consolidate NVD related material. Ensure all parts operations are working in accordance with the policies and procedures of NVD and relevant regulatory standards.
• Act as the primary liaison between the parts team and the separate warehouse & logistics team to ensure seamless operations and material flow.
