Job summary

Virtue Integrated Elder Care is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for Bridhaven Nursing Home, Mallow, Co Cork. The role is permanent, full-time (39 hours/week) on site in Cork, Ireland.

The salary is fixed at €32,691 per year with a competitive benefits package including income protection and critical illness cover. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, supervising care assistants, and coordinating with CNM to welcome new Residents and maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent.
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker.
• Elder care experience (2 years +).
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.
• Nursing Degree or Allied Health Degree or relevant healthcare degree.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of Resident activities and events.
• Supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• Coordinate with Unit PIC and CNM to welcome new Residents and ensure they feel safe.
• Deliver high-quality care by Healthcare Assistants to assigned Residents.
• Support day-to-day work allocation with nursing staff.

Duties Include:

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of Resident activities and events.
• To supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• By liaising with the Unit PIC and CNM ensure that adequate arrangements are made for the reception of new Residents, and that they are made to feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned Residents.
• Participate in assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of your line manager e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, social activities, conversation, communication support and all other aspects of daily living
• Support the nursing staff in the organising of day-to-day allocation of work.

Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker
• Elder care experience. (2 years + experience)
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.
