Job summary

Virtue Integrated Care's Moorehall Living in Meath, Ireland, is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant for permanent, full-time work (39 hours per week) across our Moorehall Lodge sites in Ardee and Drogheda.

You will support residents with daily living, participate in activity programs, and assist with training of care assistants under the unit manager. QQI Level 5 or nursing degree preferred; elder care experience required.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Award in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Two years+ elder care experience.
• Ability to motivate and supervise colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• To supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• Ensure arrangements are made for the reception of new residents and that they feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned residents.
• Participate in daily living activities (washing, toileting, dressing, dining, social activities, communication support).
• Support nursing staff in day-to-day allocation of work.

We are currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants in the North Dublin, Meath and Louth regions.

Contract Type:

Duties Include:

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• To supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• By liaising with the Unit PIC and CNM ensure that adequate arrangements are made for the reception of new residents, and that they are made to feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned residents.
• Participate in assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of your line manager e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, social activities, conversation, communication support and all other aspects of daily living
• Support the nursing staff in the organising of day-to-day allocation of work.

Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 Award – Healthcare or equivalent
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker
• Elder care experience. (2 years + experience)
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleague
