Job summary

Virtue Integrated Care’s Moorehall Living Nursing Homes are recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join the team delivering high-quality resident care across Meath locations. The role is permanent, full-time (39 hours/week) with a competitive salary of €32,691 per annum.

You will support daily living activities, work with nursing staff, and help foster a caring, homely environment for residents, with opportunities for career advancement across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent.
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker.
• Elder care experience (2 years+).
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent personal care abilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• Supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• Liaise with Unit PIC and CNM to ensure adequate arrangements for new residents and make them feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned residents.
• Participate in daily living tasks including washing, toileting, dressing, dining and social activities under supervision.
• Support the nursing staff in organising day-to-day allocation of work.

• Moorehall Lodge Ardee, Ardee, Co Louth.
• Moorehall Lodge Balbriggan, Balbriggan, Co Dublin
• Moorehall Lodge Drogheda, Drogheda, Co Meath.

Contract Type:

Permanent, full-time - 39 hours per week.

Duties Include:

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• To supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• By liaising with the Unit PIC and CNM ensure that adequate arrangements are made for the reception of new residents, and that they are made to feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned residents.
• Participate in assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of your line manager e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, social activities, conversation, communication support and all other aspects of daily living
• Support the nursing staff in the organising of day-to-day allocation of work.

Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 Award - Healthcare or equivalent
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker
• Elder care experience. (2 years + experience)
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleague
• Excellent communication skills
