Qualifications

• Recognised OH&S qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial settings preferred.
• Ability to identify hazards and drive safety improvements.

Responsibilities

Ayrton Group are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team at a large-scale manufacturing facility producing high-quality pipes and fittings for the Plumbing, Construction, and Agricultural sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving a strong safety culture across a busy, modern manufacturing environment.

Working closely with employees, supervisors, management, engineering, maintenance, and production teams, the successful candidate will provide practical health and safety guidance, support compliance with legislation and best practice, and drive initiatives that ensure a safe and positive workplace for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert health and safety advice and support across a large-scale manufacturing facility.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, systems, and programmes.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and safety observations, ensuring corrective actions are identified and followed through.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
• Support managers and supervisors in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring health and safety responsibilities are understood and embedded at all levels.
• Deliver and coordinate health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
• Monitor and report on health and safety performance, trends, KPIs, and improvement actions.
• Assist with the management of contractor safety and ensure appropriate risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place.
• Support emergency preparedness, including fire safety, emergency response procedures, drills, and incident management.
• Work collaboratively with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, HR, and management teams to identify and control workplace hazards.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation, industry standards, and emerging health and safety risks within the manufacturing environment.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee wellbeing, workplace safety, and operational performance.

Key Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Health & Safety Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Practical experience in risk assessment, safety auditing, incident investigation, and the development of safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with employees, supervisors, management, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• A proactive and practical approach to identifying hazards and driving effective safety improvements.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture at all levels of an organisation.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
• Good IT and report-writing skills, with experience maintaining safety records, documentation, and performance reports.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment involving machinery, production processes, manual handling, contractors, and maintenance activities would be highly advantageous.
