Job summary

Ayrton Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join a large-scale renewable energy project. You will provide practical guidance, support compliance, and drive initiatives that foster a safe, positive workplace.

Based across two Dublin-area locations, the role requires strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation, risk assessments, incidents investigations, and effective safety training.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Experience in a health and safety role, ideally within renewable energy or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in risk assessment, safety auditing, incident investigation, and safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage with employees, supervisors, management, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Proactive and practical approach to hazard identification and safety improvements.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture at all levels of the organisation.
• Good IT and report-writing skills and maintaining safety records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert health and safety guidance across a renewable energy project.
• Develop and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, systems, and programmes.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and safety observations with corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practice.
• Support managers and supervisors in promoting a strong safety culture and embedding safety responsibilities.
• Deliver and coordinate health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
• Monitor and report on health and safety performance, trends, KPIs and improvement actions.
• Assist with contractor safety management and risk assessments.
• Stay updated with changes in legislation and industry standards affecting manufacturing.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives for wellbeing, safety and performance.

Ayrton Group are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a large scale renewable energy project. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving a strong safety culture.

Working closely with employees, supervisors, management, engineering, maintenance, and production teams, the successful candidate will provide practical health and safety guidance, support compliance with legislation and best practice, and drive initiatives that ensure a safe and positive workplace for everyone.

This role is based across two locations in the Dublin area, an office location and manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert health and safety advice and support across a renewable energy project.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety policies, procedures, systems, and programmes.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and safety observations, ensuring corrective actions are identified and followed through.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish health and safety legislation, regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
• Support managers and supervisors in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring health and safety responsibilities are understood and embedded at all levels.
• Deliver and coordinate health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes for employees and contractors as needed.

Key Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Health & Safety, Health & Safety Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a renewable energy, engineering, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Practical experience in risk assessment, safety auditing, incident investigation, and the development of safe systems of work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with employees, supervisors, management, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• A proactive and practical approach to identifying hazards and driving effective safety improvements.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture at all levels of an organisation.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
• Good IT and report-writing skills, with experience maintaining safety records, documentation, and performance reports.
