nineDots.io in Dublin is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the first engineering team, own the function, and shape the technical direction as the business scales.

This hands-on, player-coach role requires leading by example, mentoring engineers, and driving architectural decisions while staying involved in code when appropriate. The stack includes Go, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes/GKE, PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka, with a strong AI-native focus using Claude Code.

Head of Engineering – AdTech – Dublin / Remote Friendly

€120k–€140k + Equity

If you're a strong technical leader who still enjoys getting into the detail, this is worth a look.

We're working with a growing AdTech business that's looking to hire its first Head of Engineering.

They've already got an established team of five engineers and now need someone to lead the team and help shape what engineering looks like as the business scales.

This is very much a hands-on, player-coach role. You'll own the engineering function, but you'll also stay close to the technology — making technical and architecture decisions, reviewing approaches, unblocking engineers and getting into the code when it makes sense.

They're also serious about becoming an AI-native engineering team. Claude Code and agentic development are already a big part of where they're going, so they're looking for someone who genuinely uses these tools rather than someone who's just interested in AI from a distance.

The stack includes Go, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes/GKE, PostgreSQL, Redis and Kafka and some other stuff to boot also.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage engineering from a spreadsheet. They want someone who can lead by example technically, develop good engineers, raise the quality bar and still roll their sleeves up when needed.

You might already be a Head of Engineering, or you could be a strong Tech Lead or Engineering Manager who's been doing a lot of this already and is ready to take ownership of the whole function.

Ideally you'll be Dublin-based and happy with a hybrid setup, but they can be more remote-friendly for the right person outside Dublin.
