Job summary

Teamworx Recruitment is seeking a commercially driven General Manager for a busy venue in Dun Laoghaire. You will own the P&L, drive sales and margins, and lead a team that delivers great service every day, both on the floor and in the back office.

You will be hands-on and visible on the floor, while maintaining tight control of budgets, stock and licensing compliance. The role rewards performance with bonuses and pension contributions, meals on duty, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as General Manager or senior manager in a high-volume bar or bar and restaurant.
• Proven track record of driving sales and improving margins.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting to owners or senior management.

Responsibilities

• Own the venue P&L and report weekly on sales, GP, wages and controllable costs.
• Drive sales growth through pricing, promotions, events and increasing spend per head.
• Deliver GP targets on food and drink through menu engineering, supplier terms and tight stock control.
• Manage wage costs by building rosters around trading patterns and demand.
• Set budgets and forecasts with the owner, and report progress against them.
• Lead from the floor, setting service standards and customer experience.
• Recruit, train and develop the team, building a strong management structure underneath.
• Grow local and visitor trade through events, live music, group bookings, social media and community links.
• Build loyalty and repeat visits, and protect and grow online reviews.
• Put clear systems and routines in place so standards are consistent on every shift.
• Manage stock, ordering, cash control and supplier relationships.
• Ensure full licensing, health and safety, HACCP and responsible serving of alcohol.
