Job summary

BSS BUILDING STAFF SOLUTIONS is seeking a Graduate to Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a residential project in Cherrywood, South Dublin. You will support cost management, procurement and project administration on a live site.

The role offers practical commercial experience under a Senior QS, with opportunities to develop estimates, procurement and cost reporting in a growing residential team.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Graduate or candidate with up to two years Quantity Surveying experience.
• Residential construction experience is desirable, but motivated graduates will be considered.
• Good numerical, analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Willingness to work on site and develop commercially under the guidance of a Senior QS.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Irish construction experience, Safe Pass and a full driving licence are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with measurements, take-offs, bills of quantities and pricing exercises.
• Support the preparation and review of subcontractor enquiries and comparisons.
• Assist with subcontract procurement, orders, valuations and payment applications.
• Maintain commercial records, cost reports, variations and project documentation.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly cost/value reports and forecasts.
• Work with the site and commercial teams to monitor progress, changes and costs.
• Support the agreement of final accounts and close-out documentation.

Our client is an established residential main contractor delivering high-quality housing developments in the Dublin area. They are seeking a Graduate to Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a residential project in Cherrywood, South Dublin, working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role

The successful candidate will receive practical commercial and contractual experience across a live residential construction project, supporting the Senior QS with day-to-day cost management, procurement and project administration.
