Job summary

Europlan Group is seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor in Dublin, Ireland. You will support cost management, procurement, valuations and reporting across multiple projects and locations in Ireland and the UK, working with the Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing budgets, cost estimates and cash flow forecasts.
• Support monthly cost reports and financial updates.
• Maintain accurate project records for measurement, valuation and reporting.
• Assist in tender documentation, Bills of Quantities and supplier inquiries.
• Support subcontractor and supplier evaluations during procurement.
• Assist with subcontract administration and compliance.
• Measure works on site and support project valuations.
• Assist interim payment applications and final accounts.
• Record and assist in valuing project variations.
• Maintain project documentation and contractual correspondence.
• Support identification of risks, variations, and cost impacts.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and governance processes.

Position: Junior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor (JQS) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to develop their skills while supporting high-profile projects and gaining experience across all stages of the construction project lifecycle.

The Junior Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist with cost management, procurement, valuations, and commercial reporting within a fast-paced project environment across multiple locations in Ireland and the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts.
• Support the preparation of monthly cost reports and financial updates.
• Maintain accurate project records for measurement, valuation, and reporting.
• Assist in preparing tender documentation, bills of quantities, and supplier enquiries.
• Support subcontractor and supplier evaluations and comparisons during procurement processes.
• Assist with subcontract administration, documentation, and compliance.
• Measure works on site and support the preparation of project valuations.
• Assist with interim payment applications and the preparation of final accounts.
• Record and assist in valuing project variations under the supervision of the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Maintain project documentation and contractual correspondence.
• Support the identification of project risks, variations, and potential cost impacts.
• Ensure adherence to company commercial procedures and project governance processes.

The Qualifications

Essential

• Degree (or currently working towards) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in a Quantity Surveying or construction-related role (graduates will be considered). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office applications.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Motivated to learn, develop, and progress within the construction and engineering industry.

Desirable

• Familiarity with construction contracts such as NEC, JCT, or RIAI.
• Previous experience supporting commercial teams on construction or engineering projects.
• Understanding of project cost management and procurement processes.
