Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group in Ireland is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to learn and contribute to HV substations design, analysis and delivery on major power projects.

You will work with experienced engineers, develop practical solutions, and rotate through feasibility, detailed design and commissioning, with mentoring and a three-year early careers programme. Hybrid working and strong development opportunities underpin our approach.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in HV substations and renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing HV substations and primary plant layouts.
• Prepare technical specifications for HV equipment.
• Support life-cycle engineering from feasibility to commissioning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Contribute to innovative energy storage and smart-grid projects.
• Develop understanding of standards, safety, and quality processes.
• Actively learn and share knowledge with the team.
