Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join its energy team in Ireland. You will design, analyse and assess medium- and high-voltage substations for major power projects, applying core electrical engineering principles to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions.

You will gain strong technical foundations, work with experienced engineers, and contribute to projects with societal impact in a collaborative environment that values learning and ideas from day one.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Masters degree (obtained no earlier than 2025) or expected to achieve one of the listed degree disciplines.
• Electrical Engineering as a core degree field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, analysis and assessment of medium- and high-voltage substations.
• Prepare and review technical specifications for HV plant and ancillary equipment.
• Provide electrical engineering input throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility to commissioning.
• Support calculations, drawings and reports to ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective substation design and delivery.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams across civil, environmental, survey, CAD/BIM, and more.
• Contribute to innovative projects involving energy storage, HVDC, smart-grid, and other emerging technologies.
• Develop understanding of engineering standards, client requirements, health and safety, and quality processes.
