Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Power Transmission and Distribution team in Ireland. You will work on diverse projects developing innovative solutions for power transmission grid systems and client installations, ensuring security of electricity supply and integration of renewables.

Reporting to the Power team Senior Engineer, you will contribute to HV substations design, equipment specs, and project delivery across feasibility to commissioning, with

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and ideally Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience in power transmission and distribution industry.
• HV substation design experience 110kV–400kV.
• Knowledge of HV AIS/GIS equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with Revit 3D modelling for HV substations.
• Knowledge of overhead line and HV cable design.
• Experience in site construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience with earthing software and system studies.

Responsibilities

• Produce primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Develop equipment specifications for HV plant and ancillary gear.
• Provide design input across feasibility to commissioning lifecycle.
• Coordinate with client project teams and internal disciplines.
• Deliver projects in new tech: energy storage, HVDC, smart grids.
• Provide services to UK and overseas clients.
