Warehouse Operator – Pharmaceutical – Carlow

- Shift: 2-cycle rotation – 7am–3pm / 1pm–9pm
Join a leading pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical company in Carlow on an 11-month contract, supporting critical warehouse and material movement operations within a highly regulated GMP environment. This fully onsite role is ideal for an experienced warehouse or materials professional with a strong focus on safety, quality, accuracy and compliance.
Candidate must be able to work fully onsite and meet the physical requirements of the role, including bending, crouching, reaching, lifting and carrying materials up to 20–25kg, with willingness to work across ambient and temperature-controlled areas.
Responsibilities
- Safely receive, unload, inspect, store, stage and transfer raw materials, packaging components, consumables, intermediates and finished goods in accordance with GMP and site procedures.
- Execute accurate material movements and inventory transactions through ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, including scanning, bin-to-bin tracking and real-time inventory updates.
- Operate material handling equipment including counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, power pallet trucks and manual stackers, where appropriately trained and certified.
- Support the timely delivery and issuance of materials to manufacturing suites and laboratories, helping maintain On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) performance and avoid production delays.
- Maintain high standards of GMP, EHS, Good Documentation Practices and data integrity, ensuring right-first-time documentation and adherence to ALCOA+ principles.
- Support inventory counts, reconciliations, discrepancy investigations, audits, inspections, deviation management, CAPA, change controls and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain pharmaceutical-grade housekeeping and 5S standards across warehouse areas, cold rooms, staging lanes and loading bays, while supporting off-site warehousing and 3PL logistics when required.
Requirements
- 1–3+ years' experience in warehouse, logistics or materials management, ideally within a GMP, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device or other highly regulated environment.
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent secondary education.
- Hands‑on experience using an ERP/WMS system, such as SAP, Oracle or an equivalent warehouse management or barcode-scanning system.
- Valid certification or previous licensing for Reach Truck, Counterbalance, PPT/Walkie-Stacker or similar material handling equipment, or willingness and ability to obtain certification onsite.
- Strong understanding of GMP, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), data integrity and compliance, with a meticulous approach to lot numbers, part codes, quantities and expiry dates.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment, managing changing priorities while maintaining strong safety, quality and accuracy standards.
