Job description

Keep Medicine Moving, Safely and Right First Time

GMP Warehouse Material Handler

Every batch of medicine starts with the right materials arriving in the right place, at the right time, in the right condition. In this role, you make sure that happens.

A leading pharmaceutical company in Carlow is adding to its warehouse team. They need a GMP Warehouse Material Handler to receive, store and deliver the materials that keep their manufacturing suites and laboratories running.

This is a strong next step for an experienced warehouse operative who wants to move into pharma. It suits someone from food, medical devices or another regulated site who already works to strict procedures. The company is also open to people newer to warehousing who are careful, safety-minded and keen to learn. In pharma, how you do the job matters as much as how fast you do it. If you take pride in getting things right the first time, this role will suit you.

What you'll achieve (and why it matters):

Your work makes sure production always has what it needs, safely and on time:

  • Receive and unload incoming deliveries, checking counts, packaging and paperwork before anything goes into stock.
  • Stage and deliver raw materials, packaging and single-use assemblies to manufacturing and laboratory areas, so production never waits.
  • Prepare finished product and outbound shipments to strict temperature-control standards.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks and pallet trucks safely, with certification provided on site if you need it.
  • Record every stock movement in real time in SAP, the stock system, keeping inventory accuracy at 100%.
  • Support stock counts and help investigate any discrepancies.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised and inspection-ready at all times.
  • Take part in daily team meetings and improvement projects that make the warehouse safer and more efficient.
  • Once you've built experience, support material movements to off-site storage locations.

What you'll bring:

  • A Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Warehouse or logistics experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical, medical device or other regulated environment.
  • Experience using SAP, a warehouse management system or barcode scanners.
  • Forklift, reach truck or pallet truck certification, or a willingness to get certified on site.
  • An understanding of why procedures and accurate paperwork matter.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 20-25kg.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work a weekly rotating shift pattern.

Your edge (desired, not required):

  • Experience with cold rooms, freezers or temperature-controlled goods.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials or dangerous goods.
  • Training in Lean, Six Sigma or 5S, a method for keeping workplaces organised.
