Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Global Sanctions Lead to own and evolve an established sanctions function across geographies. You will lead regional teams, drive transformation toward automation, and partner with Engineering and Product to modernize sanctions operations.

You will manage strategic direction, oversight, and QA of the sanctions program, staying ahead of evolving regulations and reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in sanctions compliance or financial crimes, with senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record improving sanctions program operations.
• Experience evaluating or transitioning sanctions tooling, including vendor platforms.
• Ability to partner with Engineering and Product on tooling design and workflow automation.
• Effective communicator across regulators, leadership, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop sanctions managers and analysts across regions, ensuring quality and throughput.
• Own the strategic direction of Stripe's sanctions program, coverage, escalation frameworks, and QA.
• Drive the transformation roadmap toward automation and smarter detection.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Product to translate sanctions needs into tooling inputs.
• Ensure audit trails, explainability, and examiner-readiness for regulatory exams.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex casework.
• Monitor evolving sanctions regulations globally and translate changes into requirements.
• Report program health and performance to senior leadership.
