Job summary

Mastercard Open Finance is seeking a Senior Principal Software Architect to define and drive the architecture that enables a unified global ecosystem. This hands-on role influences Product, Engineering and Technology and aims to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-efficient solutions across markets.

The position is a full-time hybrid role based in Dublin, with three days onsite. You will mentor teams, promote reusable patterns, and lead multi-year modernization initiatives while balancing

Qualifications

• Proven experience driving enterprise-scale architecture and platform strategy.
• Strong foundation in computer science and large-scale distributed systems.
• Hands-on software engineering with prototype and proof-of-concept skills.
• Experience leveraging generative AI to improve engineering productivity and design.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, APIs, data architecture, and security.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the North Star architecture for Mastercard Open Finance, translating business strategy into a scalable technology vision.
• Develop phased roadmaps to modernize platforms with clear priorities and milestones.
• Lead architectural decisions across Product, Engineering and Technology.
• Identify risks, analyze critical flows, and validate designs with proofs of concept.
• Promote reusable architecture patterns, IaC, automation, and engineering standards.
• Mentor architects and engineers, fostering cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence.
