Mastercard Open Finance is seeking a Senior Principal Software Architect to define and drive the architecture for a global, scalable platform. This hands-on individual contributor will lead from concept to production, partnering with product, engineering, and technology to unify platforms and deliver secure, resilient Open Finance experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and building large-scale distributed platforms, ideally in financial services or regulated industries.
• Hands-on software engineering and coding ability to investigate problems, prototype, and assess implementations.
• Experience leveraging generative AI to improve engineering productivity, design, and development processes.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, APIs, distributed systems, data architecture, identity management, security, and enterprise integration patterns; practical automation and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Ability to define target-state architectures and lead multi-year modernization and migration across products, teams, and domains.
• Strong understanding of Open Finance and Open Banking ecosystems, including bank connectivity and data sharing.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the North Star architecture for Mastercard Open Finance and translate business strategy into a scalable technology vision.
• Develop phased roadmaps to modernize platforms with clear priorities, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead architectural decision-making across Product, Engineering, and Technology with cross-team alignment.
• Evaluate technical challenges, identify risks, and create proofs of concept to validate solutions.
• Use AI-assisted engineering practices to accelerate prototyping and improve engineering effectiveness.
• Promote reusable architecture patterns, infrastructure as code, and automation standards across teams.
• Modernize the platform by consolidating capabilities and retiring legacy technologies.
• Design cloud-native services for bank connectivity, consent management, identity, and data aggregation.
